Preparing for Battle

You'll want to come prepared for this one as you'll be going for a long stretch without having access to any shops or workshops. Bring all the health regenerating items you need, and make sure to repair and restock any weapons you plan on using.

The chapter will have you facing of a multitude of enemies, so be aware! The game suggests you start at a Level 47, but anything within the 40 range should be enough.

Storming the Castle

Meet with Damien at Caunt de la Croix's mill after midnight. After the custscene, you'll be tasked with facing off with a group of soldiers. You'll first want to get rid of the nearby archer as he will be a pain to keep around, slowly taking chunks of your vitality away. As for the soldiers with the hammers, wait for them to spin around several times in a row, then go at them when they have their guard down.

After you've dealt with the soldiers, run through the gate and head for the next group. These guys are similar too the soldiers you just fought, but there is on with a shield. Use Aard to knock him down and leave him vulnerable. You also have to deal with Roderick who is a powerful foe that will quickly retaliate when attacked. Save him for last!

Run into the next area where you'll be met by even more Iron Borg. This heavy hitter should be avoided for now as there are a ton of archers in the area. Take them out first while avoiding the Iron Borg, then focus on the overtly tall man at the end. Head up the stairs and take out the remaining archers. Igni works well here.

Continue on up to meet with Regis and Dettlff. The two will completely wipe out the army in front of you. After the short-lived battle, the next set of cutscenes will play and eventually lead to the The Night of Long Fangs quest.
