This page contains the walkthrough for A Portrait of the Witcher as an Old Man, a side quest in The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine.

You can pick up this side quest from a painter , south of the Gran'place signpost and notice board. Once accepting the quest from the painter, head to Beauclair Palace, and meditate/wait til around noon for him to be there.

Get on your horse Roach and follow the painter. Once at a certain hilltop, the painter notices his paints are missing. Use your Witcher Senses to find them. Examine the spilled paint that will be south of the road (west of the noblemen).

Use Witcher Senses to follow the footprints and the scent of the paint. They lead west along the road, before branching through the broken fence northwards, and then north east.

As you get near a cave, the prints lead southward into the cave. Keep following the scent deeper into the cave and you'll come across some Nekkers who were using the paint. Kill the Nekkers and then grab the paint.

Return to the painter with the paints. The painter has found a better spot for the painting, so get on your horse and follow him again. Once at the new location, the painter asks you to choose one of three different poses.

Choose one of them and then some time later, a Griffin will attack! Griffins are weak to Grapeshot, Hybrid Oil, Aard sign.

After killing the Griffin, return to the market where you first grabbed the quest, meditate/wait at least a day and the painter will be there. Talk to him and you'll find one of three different paintings. You can also optionally buy the painting for 1000 crowns if you wish. This completes the quest.
