Similar to the Papyrus Puzzles of Assassin's Creed Origins, the Ainigmata Ostraka in Assassin's Creed Odyssey are cryptic clues located on tablets at many points of interest, and put you in search of treasure hidden in the world at large. Each Ainigmata Ostraka found will give you a few location-based clues to find and inspect the environment somewhat nearby, usually in the same region or in a nearby area of that larger region. Finding Ainigmata Ostrakas can reward you with specific Engravings that allow you to apply unique buffs to your weapons and armor separate to those you can unlock by completing challenges. Below is a list of Ainigmata Ostraka, the regions they can be found in, and where the clues will lead you.

Ashes to Ashes

Reward: +3% Adrenaline per Hit Engraving

Ashes to Ashes is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Kephallonia, the starting island region in the game.

The Ainigmata Ostraka can be found at Markos's Vineyard, near the center of the island just to the South of Mount Ainos and the statue of Zeus.

In the Vineyard, you can find the Ainigmata Ostraka in the barn on the East side of the property, located on a second floor balcony of the barn.

"When times are bad it can be easy to turn away from the gods. Go to the burned temple in Kausos Village, in the Cursed Valley of Pali. I can be found in a pile of burning ashes, where a worshipping man left his post to begin a new life as a pirate."

The riddle points you towards Kausos Village in the Southwest. This burned down town has a ruined temple on the North side of the village, and inside is a large smoldering pile of junk you can inspect to find the Engraving.

Bottomless Lake

Reward: +10% Crit Damage while Full Health Engraving

Bottomless Lake is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Kephallonia, located at the Melissani Cave just to the North of the main town of Sami.

At the Melissani Cave, you can find the Ainigmata Ostraka by diving down into the entry pool to the cave and looking along the floor of the pool to find the tablet.

"Taking the plunge? Everyone on the island thinks this is the deepest dive, but there is a lake in the Coast of Koliadai that is rumored to be bottomless. If you are able to dive as far as the woman in marble, you will be able to claim me."

The riddle points to the historical location Lake Abythos in the center of the Coast of Koliadai area.

Diving into the lake, keep to the sides as you swim down and you can just make out the statue of a woman on one of the rocky shelves you can inspect to gain the Engraving.

Fatal Attraction

Reward: +2% Damage with Swords and Daggers Engraving

Fatal Attraction is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Kephallonia, located on the smaller island of Ithaka at the ruins of Odysseus's Palace.

Once at Odysseus's Palace, kill the guard and look for the highest building on the North side and inspect the rooftop to find the tablet.

"If you retrace the steps of Odysseus and take the path North, you will find a goat farm in Ithaka where he once met Athena. She helped him with a disguise to reclaim his wife and kill her suitors. Find your reward on a slaughtered goat."

The riddle will point you North of Odysseus's Palace to the historical location of Eumaios's Pig Farm, just down the road.

At the entrance to the farm, look up on the right side by a building to find a bloody goat to inspect for the Engraving.

Hound Docked

Reward: +2% Crit Chance while Full Health Engraving

Hound Docked is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Megaris, located on the Farm of Tripodiskos, near the center of the Occupied Forest of Tripodiskos area.

You can find the Ainigmata Ostraka on top of the small farmhouse building, which is the only building around.

"When all ships look the same, it's hard to remember where you docked. Go to the shores in the Occupied Forest of Tripodiskos and look for a moored ship guarded by a dog. Find me where X marks the spot."

The riddle will point you North to the nearby beach where the Spartans have landed, and here you'll find four beached ships near the Spartan camp.

The second ship from the top has a dog wandering on deck, and if you greet him, he'll wander to the back of the ship where two small bones are crossed in an X you can inspect to get the Engraving.

Happy Hour

Reward: +1 Seconds Burning Duration Engraving

Happy Hour is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Megaris, located at the Battlefield Cave on the East side of the Occupied Forest of Tripodiskos where the conquest battlefield is.

You can find the Ainigmata Ostraka by diving down into the cave's pool, and then taking a left at the first crossroads to a small room with a chest and the tablet on the floor above it.

"It's dangerous outside, so I'm waiting out the war. The only time I go outside this cave is to replenish my cup. Once I leave, I travel Northwest from the battlefield in the Occupied Forest of Tripodiskos. Find me at the altar of offerings at the feet of the wine god himself!"

The riddle will point you Northwest of the cave to the Pillar of Dionysos in the South part of the Kithairon Foothills area.

Watch for cultists who may be guarding the statue of the wine god, and you can find the engraving at the base of the pillar.

Record Sunshine

Reward: +2% Damage with Spears and Staffs Engraving

Record Sunshine is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Megaris, found in the main city of Megara at the Leader's House.

You can find the Ainigmata Ostraka by climbing to the Southeast tower of the Leader's House and looking along the rooftop for the tablet.

"An unusual request came to eliminate some records. I didn't want any trouble so I took a small journey west to Mount Geraneia. Take a dive in the center of the bay and find them on the shelf in a sunken ruin."

The riddle points West to the area of Mount Geraneia, past Fort Geraneia to a small isolated bay full of water above a Shoreline Bandit Camp.

Dive into the middle of the bay and look for some ruins, and you'll come upon a ruined bookshelf that you can inspect to find the Engraving.

Pressed for Time

Reward: +2% Elemental Resistance Engraving

Pressed for Time is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Phokis, found at the site of Prometheus and the Birth of Humankind in Southeastern corner of the Sacred Lands of Apollo outside of the town of Kirrha.

You can find the Ainigmata Ostraka near the tents on the Southwest side of the site, near one of the giant clay figures in the middle of the site.

"If you slip beside the Leader's house in Pilgrim's Landing, you can find me in a large bowl of olives."

The riddle points West to the town of Kirrha in Pilgrim's Landing - specifically towards the Leader House on the East side of town. Instead of inspecting the house, keep moving past the front entrance heading South where you can find an olive farm where workers have gathered olives in large baskets.

There's a large red bowl on the side full of olives you can inspect to find the Engraving.

Finger Tip

Reward: +2% Damage with Heavy Weapons Engraving

Finger Tip is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Phokis, found at Desphina Fort at the Northwest corner of the Hill of the Sacred War area.

You can find the Ainigmata Ostraka on the West side of the fort's upper level near the walls, where a statue of am an and snake is and the tablet nearby with some offerings.

"In the Valley of the Snake lies a giant half buried. From where his mossy finger points, head North to the peak where I can be found."

The riddle will send you to the Tomb of Tityos in the Valley of the Snake, where the giant statue of Tityos lies in the ground. The riddle is a bit confusing, as Tityos doesn't have mossy fingers and they aren't really pointing - however, if you climb his outstretched hang straight up, you can look North at the peaks of Grand Mount Parnassos.

Mark the peak straight North that will place the marker East of both Delphi and the Cave of Kratos where a riverhead starts from the cave. East of this is a small flat area that isn't the highest point of the mountain, but you can find a small campsite here featuring a dead tree with no branches.

Check this location and you can find the Engraving on a wooden floor in the camp.

A Specific General

Reward: +1 Seconds Intoxicated Engraving

A Specific General is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Phokis, found at the Sanctuary of Athena Pronaia below the Grand Mount Parnassos area and Delphi.

The Ainigmata Ostraka can be found in the main temple here after clearing the culists, just below the large indoor statue to Athena along with a loot chest.

"With so much to see in Delphi, it may be hard to find me. I'm sitting at the plinth of the only bronze statue holding a spear and sword. This great general is among seven of his peers."

This riddle points you North to the Sanctuary of Delphi, but there are many many statues here.

To find the right statue, enter near the Southeast side and look along the South border of the Sanctuary for the historical site - the Monument of Epigones - which features seven generals - one of which holds both sword and spear. Look below this statue of a basket of flower petals to inspect for the engraving.

Heart and Sole

Reward: +10% Crit Damage with Low Health

Red Scent is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Malis, found at Phylidos's House near the hunter town of Lamia, located inside the main house on the right.

This riddle will point you in the direction of a small island in Pandora's Cove. You can get there by taking the small boat from the Fishing Village South to the tiny island.

At the island, check around the East side of the island for a small fishing camp, where you'll find a spear sticking out of a basket that you can interact with to find the engraving.

Red Scent

Reward: +4% Damage with Overpower Abilities

Red Scent is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Lokris, which can be found at the Lokris city's Leader House - on the docks overlooking the sea at the back of the main house.

This riddle will point to the nearby Red Lake that's South of Lokris. Once you reach the water, have Ikaros scan to find a treasure chest and a hole leading down into the red waters.

Swim down and then left to find an underwater cave with the chest, and a large bronze bull statue that you can interact with to get the engraving.

Backstage Pass

Reward: +3% Adrenaline per Hit

Backstage Pass is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Attika (Athens), which can be found in the Textile Mill on the South side of Greater Athens. It's located right inside the mill at the foot of one of the main looms.

The riddle points to a local theater production, which can be found just to the Northwest at the historical landmark of the Theater of Dionysos. You can see it on the map by looking for a half-circle seating area.

At the theater, look around the back for a central entrance to a small room before the stage, and you'll find a mask to interact with to gain the engraving.

Killer View

Reward: +2% Damage with Spears and Staffs

Killer View is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Attika (Athens), which can be found at the Mt. Pentelikos Marble Quarry. It's located up on one of the higher levels of the quarry on the West side.

The riddle gives you a clue about a view of the Akropolis that's better than the Temple of Hephaistos marked by two pillars.

South of the temple is the historical location of the Areopagus, just above the Prison. Here you can find an offering table framed by two large pillars looking at the Akropolis

Goat's Gruff

Reward: +2% Damage with Heavy Weapons

Goat's Gruff is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Attika (Athens), which can be found in the Abandoned Farmland area at Camp Dekelia. You can find it in the main warehouse guarded by troops on the North side of camp.

The riddle leads you to the Cave of Pan located to the East and North of the camp where you found the Ainigmata.

Outside the cave entrance are many rock formations that resemble goats, and one near the entrance has blood on its head that you can interact with.

Elbow Greece

Reward: +1 Seconds Burning Duration

Elbow Greece is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Attika (Athens), which can be found in the Abandoned Farmland area at the Altar of Love. You can find the slab at the front entrance to the altar among the offerings.

The riddle indicates this puzzle can be solved by heading West from the Altar of Love to the Statue of Prometheus.

From there, let your eagle point the way North to the Oropos Heights in the Boeotia region, and head straight North (look at night and you may even see a lit campfire at the top of the mountain).

Head up the mountain peak looking for a small campsite with the bonfire, and a small wooden platform holds the item you can interact with to get the engraving.

Odor in the Court

Reward: +2% Crit Chance while Full Health

Odor in the Court is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka found in the region of Attika (Athens), found in the Araibignes Shipwreck off the Northwestern coast of the Port of Piraeus, between the port and the Isle of Salamis. Swim down to the wreck and you'll find the slab on the deck.

The riddle wants you to find the Seaman's Judicial Court at the Port of Pireaus, but its not marked on your map, so you'll need to find an area that has a lot of records.

To find it, look just South of the Ship Dock in the port, and West of the Sync Point to find a building with a row of columns that contains shelves of scrolls and paperwork. Check the area in the South of the building to find a platter of seafood against the wall you can inspect

War Eagle

Reward: +1 Seconds Burning Duration

War Eagle is one of the Aingimata Ostraka found in the region of Attika (Athens), found on the Isle of Salamis at the Salamis Marble Quarry. You can find it on a table in the cultist's quarters on the Northeast side of the quarry.

The riddle will point you down the road South of the marble quarry past the town of Salmis to the Ruined Sanctuary of Ajax.

Instead of entering the ruins, look just South of the ruins themselves for the statue of an eagle you can inspect

A Deal for Freedom

Reward: +2% Crit Chance while Low Health

A Deal for Freedom is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka in the Abantis Islands region, located at the island of Euboea. You can find it at the Oreos Quarry under a tented area on the high West side of the quarry.

This riddle mentions something being cas from Istiaia, a high peak and sync point in the Artemision region.

It also mentions sitting below a marbled beast, and if you look to the North, you can find the Bull of Oreos, a marble monument along the road, and next to it are offerings that you can interact with to get the engraving.

Beneath Theseus's Dreams

Reward: +4% Damage with Overpower Abilities

Beneath Theseus's Dreams is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka in the Abantis Islands region, located on the island of Skyros at the Pirate Hideout. You can find it on a table in the fort that overlooks the ocean.

The riddle points to Boulder Bay, looking south at an arch where Theseus died. This is in fact the sync point Hero's Fall, which is perched atop a giant rock arch.

Dive into the waters and search just East of the arch to find a ruined ship you can interact with.

Blue Eyed Beauty

Reward: +2% Crit Chance while Low Health

Blue Eyed Beauty is one of the Ainigmata Ostraka in the Pirate Islands region, located on the island of Seriphos at Aetios's House. You van find it inside his house on a small table against the wall.

The riddle mentions the blue lagoon on the island, which is Polydektes Lagoon, and you can find it up on the Northeast side of the island.

The hole carved in stone isn't the underwater tunnel - but the small arch on the Northeast side of the lagoon leading to the sea - and during daylight, sun will shine through the "eye". Check the waters below the hole to find an urn you can inspect to find the engraving.
